The University of Cote d’Azur is pleased to offer up to five fully funded doctoral scholarships open to researchers around the world, which will start no later than October. Fully funded doctoral scholarships at the University of Cote d’Azur in France are open to international students.

The scholarship enables a postgraduate program(s) in the field of all subjects studied at the University of Cote d’Azur.

The goal is to recruit and support the earliest and most promising early researchers in the world who develop a research program with the participation of one or more laboratories within the UCA.

About the Scholarship Host

The University of Cote d’Azur (University of Cote d’Azur) is a collection of institutions of higher education on the French Riviera that brings together the main stakeholders in higher education and research on the Cote d’Azur.

It aims to develop a new 21st century model for universities in France, with new interdisciplinary interactions, as well as to develop a new form of coordination between research, teaching and innovation, with strong partnerships with the private sector and local authorities.

Who can apply for Fully Funded Doctoral Scholarships at Université Côte d’Azur in France?

This call is aimed at active lecturers and researchers, who have at least the status of conferences or the de rashersha baggage (or equivalent), as well as artists based on a research project in art and creation. Postdoctoral fellows and emeriti professors are not eligible. The residence of artists whose purpose is artistic production that is not closely related to a research project is excluded.

The grants of the Advanced Research Program are primarily intended for external researchers, lecturers and artists interested in collaborating with groups at the University of Cote d’Azur. The aim is to bring to the laboratories and groups of the University of Cote d’Azur, and for a moderate long period (1 to 2 semesters), researchers and artists of a very high standard, whose presence will promote our site and their interaction with our teams will strengthen our research potential and significantly increase the University’s reputation.

Admission Requirements: To be eligible for this scholarship you must meet the following requirements:

  • The Doctoral Excellence Program is designed to be a recruitment tool that will help the UCA attract outstanding students entering doctoral programs. Current students who are already at one of the UCA member institutions will, therefore, receive a lower priority than students graduating from other institutions.
  • Applicants may have received a master’s degree, but have not yet had to be awarded a doctorate. Students who have not yet completed their master’s degree by the deadline for submitting the application, but may still be ready for a doctorate. The program – as evidenced, for example, by the completion of significant undergraduate or graduate research – may apply (see below). They will be eligible to receive a doctoral program of excellence scholarships only after proving that they have completed their master’s degree.

How much is Fully Funded Doctoral Scholarships at Université Côte d’Azur in France?

For external candidates: Operating expenses € 800 per month + salary provided or added by the University of Cote d’Azur to € 5.5k per month. The grant will guarantee the beneficiary a gross salary of 5,500 Euros per month and operating funds of 800 Euros per month. The salary contribution from the University of Cote d’Azur will be adjusted on a case-by-case basis, depending on the conditions under which the guest will be in Cote d’Azur during his stay (sabbatical year with his source saved salary, unpaid leave, etc.). The guest will also enjoy the reception facilities usually offered by IDEX UCAJEDI

In return, the Fellow undertakes to conduct seminars and/or courses and to include the University of Cote d’Azur in signing any scientific work carried out under the grant.

For internal candidates: Operating expenses € 800 per month + salary for a maximum of 6 months by CCD Engineer and/or release of teaching to the faculty. The amount of salary included in the scholarship will be equivalent to an average salary of 6 months at most per research engineer. Its use will be managed on a case-by-case basis according to the needs of each project. It can also be used to compensate for the release of service to the faculty (in agreement with the employer).

Documents required for Fully Funded Doctoral Scholarships at Université Côte d’Azur in France

Applicants must upload the following documents (as PDF or JPG files):

  • The completed application form
  • The doctoral candidate’s curricula, including a list of two references with their names, titles/contacts to the candidate (e.g., committee member, research collaborator), addresses, telephone numbers, and email addresses.
  • Cover letter describing the candidate’s motivation
  • Last certificate
  • A written description of a maximum of 2 pages of the doctoral research project
  • Letter of support from the Director of the Host Laboratory and/or the Director of the UCA Academy
  • Copy of the applicant’s passport or identity card
  • Letter + CV from the expected supervisor (and co-supervisor, if applicable)
  • Supervisor’s resume
  • A letter from a consultant indicating the suitability of the academic environment for the research topic
